I’ve tried Goldschlager with coffee when I had a cold and it tasted of cinnamon. Couldn’t really taste the gold flakes in it.

My girlfriend used edible gold leaf to decorate some holiday chocolates and I’ve also seen it used in champagne and we got some fancy boxed hard jelly candy that had swirls of gold leaf suspended inside.

None of the gold that we ate had any taste. I think it was mainly used for visual effect.
